FREEZEPROTECTIONSYSTEM
Thisunitcomesequippedwithheatingblockstoprotectitagainstdamagesassociatedwithfreezing.
Forthisfreezeprotectionsystemtooperatetherehastobeelectricalpowertotheunit.Damageto
the heat exchanger caused by freezing temperatures due to power loss is not covered under the
warranty.Incaseswherepowerlossescanoccur,considertheuseofabackuppowersupply.
Thefreezeprotectionsystemwillactivatewhenthesurroundingand/oroutsidetemperaturesdrop
below36.5°F(2.5°C).
In any areas subject to freezing temperatures, the manufacturer highly recommends an indoor
installationwiththe
DirectVentIndoormodels.Insuchanin stallation ,freezingissuescanonlyoccur
ifcoldairentersthroughtheventingintotheheatexchanger,whetherbynegativepres sureswithin
theinstallationlocationorbystrongoutsidewinds.Itistheinstaller’sresponsibilityto beawareof
theseissues and takeall
preventative measures.Themanufacturer will not be responsible for any
damagetotheheatexchangerasaresultoffreezing.
The manufacturer also highly recommends the use of a back flow vent damper to minimize the
amountofcoldairenteringthroughtheexhaustventingwhenthewaterheater
isoff.
Ifyouwillnotbeusingyourheaterforalongperiodoftime:
1. Completelydraintheunitofwater.Refertop.39.
2. Disconnectpowertoyourheater.
Thiswillkeepyourunitfromfreezingandbeingdamaged.
